ARCHANA HOSPITAL PERUMPUNNA
The Congregation of Daughters of Presentation of Mary in the Temple (DPMT), Sisters in India is welcomed by the first bishop of Thalassery Archdiocese, late Mar Sebastian Vallopilly during the great historical event the Vatican council II His Excellency, by the God’s providence met our Mother general in Rome and thus it is happened to start the mission in India and our first house was established in Perumpunna parish and started a small dispensary on 8th December 1968 in a simple way. This was the first step of our mission in India to participate in the healing ministry of Jesus our master, which is also part of Gospel ministry too.
Later this dispensary is transformed into ARCHANA HOSPITAL on 15th August 1978; Perumpunna in Peravoor, Kannur District. And it was one of the well equipped and popular health care centers in this area. It was a place of refuge to a great number of sick and suffering people of this remote area. In 1995 in collaboration with ANGAMALY Little Flower Hospital we started ophthalmology department, later we continued independently and still we are here mainly to cater the eye problems of the people around this area.
It was our desire to uplift the Archana hospital for the better service of the society in an appreciating way. On 14th July of 2019 witnessed a new event inscribed in golden letters in the history of the Archana hospital, it was the inauguration of the renovated part of Archana Hospital Perumpunna.
Currently ophthalmology department is well equipped and have all the facilities to provide the better eye care. We have the facility for all the eye surgeries especially cataract surgeries. (Phaco Emulsification).Other departments what we have along with ophthalmology departments are : Optical shops , Optical clinic in Payyavoor, Ayurvedic department and 24 Hours Casualty.

Our Mission
Faithful to the spirit of Accipe treasured by our Founders Francisca Butti and Maria Rossi, and being attentive to the needs of the people in rural areas we offer health care services to the poor and socially marginalised who lack basic medical care’. (RL:199).
